Turbocharged M5

Currency Motor Carsfrom the US introduced an unprecedented super car. This flagship model is an ingeniously modified BMW M5 that can reach a top speed of 240 mph and features a 810-horsepower engine. This makes it the fastest, most powerful luxury 4-door luxury sedan on the planet. It's high compression V10 engine has been brilliantly altered, by company founder Ron Cash, to accommodate twin-turbos and a custom, hand crafted inter-cooled system to kick out an astounding 810 horses.

No one in the world has been able to achieve this until now. This is the only car of it's kind.

The mind-boggling power of this vehicle is complimented by the exquisite $100,000 alteration of it's interior. The leather in the steering wheel is the same as the leather in the seats: fully aniline dyed Florida Crocodile in black. Only the finest suede and leathers have been used, much like the old Delahay and Bugatti roadsters adopted in the 1930's. The custom interior is all hand stitched, designed and installed by CMC co-founder Judy Amic-Angelo, one of the most respected product designers in the country.

Hamann Thunder: M3 Look and 560-Horsepower V10 Engine

Is the 3-Series coupe not sporty enough? Too unspectacular? Engine too weak? Hamann, one the most experienced and competent references for the challenging BMW tuning takes a crowning moment with its BMW E92 modification program for the coupe, that changed both exterior and interior design as well as underneath the hood beyond recognition. The awe-inspiring coupe answers to the perfectly matched name "Thunder".

Potent V10 Engine

Hamann thought wherever a V8 engine can fit, a V10 can fit in as well. The BMW 3-Series coupe comes with a whole array of series-produced engines. The most powerful series-made of these is the M3. When it rolls off the assembly line, it has a 4-liter engine, 420 bhp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Whoever wants to top these performance characteristics, receives from Hamann not only the "normal" V10 out of the BMW M-program, but an advanced performance version with 560 bhp at 7,750 rpm as well. Featuring an impressive 424 lb-ft of torque at 6,100 rpm, it delivers a surge of power through a seven-speed manual SMG transmission resulting that most passengers are shocked groping for something to hang on to during acceleration. The sprint takes 4.2 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. Only upon reaching top speed of 208 mph does this transmission begin to meet its limitation in compulsion to move forwards.

Hamann sport catalysts provide one with a clear conscience. A Hamann four-pipe sports rear muffler with four round tailpipes bears the right to the perfect name "Thunder" matching acoustically. The four stainless steel pipes, each 76 mm in diameter, make the rear end of this coupe even more attractive and create a goose-bump producing sound.

M3-look Plus Hamann Components

Such a power-operated modified 3-Series coupe can linger as an understatement or embark enroute directly to Hamann's aerodynamic department. There this muscle car receives a complete M3-look kit including a carbon car roof. A Hamann front spoiler reduces lift even more effectively. In back, the same is accomplished with a Hamann rear diffuser.

20-inch Wheels

Wheels in 20-inch size match best to modified "Thunder". Hamann offers this size with design "Edition Race". The appearance of this three pieced, ultra-lightweight, forged rim in cross-spoke design with black spider is characterized by 9 main spokes, each branching outwards into two further spokes. Next to this striking, exciting design the titanium bolts are particular attention getters. Icing to the cake is the elegant looking high-gloss polished rim flange. Rear end of the 560 bhp "Thunder" is carried across asphalt in tires 325/25 ZR20.

Racing Atmosphere in Cockpit

With its interior design too, Hamann leaves no question of its bond to motor racing sports. During high speeds around the corners, the driver is comfortably supported with light-weight constructed racing sport seats. With a Hamann sports steering wheel designed in carbon components, Formula 1 feelings come through. The complete sports racing look is finished with a total carbon interior décor design providing a race track ring atmosphere.

All listed modifications from engine changes, to aerodynamics, brakes, wheels and interior designs are undertaken by Hamann for all gas engine 3-Series coupes starting with 325i, 330i, 335i through the M3.

ACS4 Coupe and Roadster Unveiled

AC Schnitzer's product range for the Z4 M Coupe and Roadster extends from suspension components and exhaust systems, through a wide range of wheel and tire combinations, to special aerodynamic conversions and last but not least interior accessories.

The response behavior is improved on all models thanks to the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencers. Made completely of special steel with chromed Racing tailpipe, they also provide a more sonorous note than the standard system.

For the M-versions of the Z4 that are fitted with a twin sports silencer as standard, as well as the Twin Racing system there is a further option of Sports Trim Design. This design is reserved exclusively for M-vehicles and was previously seen on both the M5 and M6. Faster and more precise gear shifts promote the adrenalin rush and perceptibly improve acceleration in a car. So the AC Schnitzer Short Shift has been adapted for the BMW Z4 3.0i, 3.0si and M-versions with manual transmission.

Extensive tests on race tracks and public roads have resulted in the development of a complete suspension concept consisting of AC Schnitzer sports suspension, special antiroll bar kit and strut braces. The total concept, the components of which can also be fitted individually, achieves sports handling with the same high standard of driving comfort.

In addition, exclusive to the M Roadster and M Coupe is a special racing suspension which is currently still in the development phase.

The suspension concept for all ACS4 Roadster and Coupe models naturally also includes the AC Schnitzer Type IV, Type III and Type II alloy and racing rims in one-piece and multipiece construction. As well as a wealth of wheel and tire combinations in 17", 18" and 19", we can now offer the largest wheels for the Z4 M Roadster and Coupe in 9.0J x 20" with 245/30 R20 tires on the front and 10.0J x 20" with 285/25 R20 tires on the rear axle.

For both the M Roadster and M Coupe, an aerodynamic package has been created which sets even more sporting accents through its styling language and the use of carbon. The package
consists of carbon front spoiler elements that optionally can be joined to the front spoiler with chromed aluminum supports. In addition, the new AC Schnitzer chrome front grille gives the
vehicles a trendy retro look and at the same time meets the high air flow demand of the 3.2-liter high revving engine.

The vehicle rear is enhanced with a fully integrated carbon rear diffuser. This diffuser is available with two different versions of the special rear skirt edge frame which, depending on which exhaust is fitted, give the "Finishing Touch" to the chromed tailpipes of the Sports Trim or Racing Design and the standard system.

It is in the nature of things that there are a few fundamental differences between the Roadster and Coupe: for the Roadster the product range includes a chrome cover for the roll bars, a wind deflector in clear-glass style and a two-piece rear wing, the triangular parts of which are attached individually to the right and left of the Roadster boot - setting totally new accents. For the coupe versions, a three-piece rear wing is available.

A particular eyecatcher is the side deflectors with integrated flashers, which as an option can be supplemented with a Chromeline set.

Exclusivity is the trump card in the cockpits of all AC Schnitzer ACS4 models: As well as the carbon interior trim in silver, and matching ergonomically designed AC Schnitzer airbag sports steering wheels, the accents are set above all by the aluminum accessories in silver or black anodized finish. There is also a pedal set with matching foot rest, a handbrake handle and a selector knob for the manual versions. For automatics, there is a carbon selector lever. Last but not least, foot mats with the AC Schnitzer logo, made from high quality velour, complete the range.

Carbon-Fiber Look For the BMW M6

If it wouldn't have the famous BMW grille, the M6 CLR600 by Lumma would look like an Italian supercar. The original bodywork of the M6 has been substantially changed. The car sits lower, is broader and has a more aggressive and attractive look due to its modified features and attachments.

"With our new body kit, we have been able to keep up with the desires of many M6 drivers", says designer Horst Lumma. The M6 comes with spoilers, blinds, bonnet, tailgate and even interior parts on request, all made of the super light and easily colorable carbon look that helps greatly reduce the standard weight of 3769 lbs.

If the customer so chooses, Lumma can modify the rev-limiter in order for the car to have a top speed of 186 mph. The engine has been otherwise left untouched.

Tension for All 6-Series BMW Models

The 2005 IAA saw the much-observed premiere of the AC Schnitzer Tension Concept based on BMW M6. The positive reception together with huge demand for this unique vehicle persuaded AC Schnitzer to include in our range a road-going version, limited to 50 examples, for conversion from the 630i -M6 models.

The Design

The bonnet of the AC Schnitzer Tension, restyled from the standard 6-series, is used on the Street Version. It reveals at first glance, from its large air outlet edged in a chrome frame, that the ventilation of the power plant is actively supported by sufficient cooling air flow. The front skirt of the Tension technology showcase has been completely adapted. It makes the Tension Street Version look much lower and at the same time improves downforce on the front axle at high speeds. The air intake provides additional cooling for the engine and the front brakes and also gives the Tension Street Version its unmistakable facial expression. To provide sufficient ventilation for the power plant, the new front wing has integral air outlet openings which with their three chrome ribs and the indicators are reminiscent of a shark's mouth.

Another highlight at the rear of the Tension Street Version is the boot lid which was originally reserved for the Tension. But its modified styling gives the rear of the BMW 6-series the "Finishing Touch", so the new boot lid is now a firm part of the Street Version conversion.

The bodystyling of the Tension Street Version is completed by the AC Schnitzer sports mirrors and the extravagant two-color paintwork in Alpine White in combination with Anthracite Metallic. Naturally, other paint options are available on request.

Wheels and Suspension

What does a costly aerodynamic conversion look like without the right wheel and tire combination? AC Schnitzer thinks it is incomplete. So they decided to equip the Tension Street Version with the latest AC Schnitzer wheel generation: the forged alloy Type V. It has a partly polished, partly painted surface. This wheel type, available for all 5 and 6-series, achieves a fundamental paradox: reduction in weight with simultaneously maximum wheel diameter and width.

The Tension Street Version is fitted with rims size 9.0J x 20" on the front and 10.0J x 20" on the rear, and each front wheel weighs in at just approx. 23.8 lbs. The tires to fit the wheels are size 245/35 ZR20 on the front and 285/30 ZR20 on the rear.

In conjunction with the wheel and tire combination, a sports suspension has been developed for the Tension Street Version which lowers the vehicle by around 1 inch and perceptibly improves driving dynamics. For the M6, a suspension spring kit is available. To counter lateral roll, AC Schnitzer antiroll bar sets are fitted to the front and rear axles.

The New AC Schnitzer 5.1-Liter Engine

Depending on base vehicle, the Tension Street Version can be fitted optionally with the new AC Schnitzer 5.1-liter engine. This is available in principle for all BMW 6-series with N62 B44 or N62 B48 TU engines.

The new engine offers a true alternative to the M5 or M6. As this conversion is also available for vehicles with automatic transmission, fans of automatics can now enjoy the higher power in conjunction with the pleasures of an automatic.

Whereas the basic engine gives maximum torques of 332 lb-ft or 362 lb-ft, the AC Schnitzer 5.1-liter engine achieves 406 lb-ft. Naturally, the performance has been optimized. It rises from 333 bhp or 367 bhp to a superb 411 bhp. At the same time, driving performance is enhanced. The top speed rises on average by around 20 mph.

To achieve excellent deceleration figures, the AC Schnitzer high performance brake system from the Tension has been modified. At the front axle, an 8-pot fixed caliper with perforated, vented brake discs and special pads ensures braking with ruthless efficiency. However, this kit is reserved for the Street Versions based on BMW M6.

The Interior

Only the interior remains, and this too has been modified in typical AC Schnitzer fashion: Starting with the carbon-fiber interior trim in titanium via the 3-spoke airbag sports steering wheel in leather with carbon applications, the automatic selector lever in carbon, the new combiinstrument with a speed display up to 205 mph, through to velours mats for footwell and boot with red embroidered logo: this all gives the characteristic look to the interior of the Tension Street Version. The overall impression is completed with silver or black anodized aluminum accessories comprising pedal set, foot rests, handbrake handle and cover for the controller of the "i-Drive" systems.

Last but not least, the silver serial number on the black anodized aluminum placard on the centre console permanently reminds the driver that he is sitting in a very special car: e.g. Tension Street Version no. 1/50.

The AC Schnitzer Tension Street Version is available in various levels. The conversion work is performed exclusively by AC Schnitzer in Aachen. The only exceptions are the USA and Japan, where trained specialists perform the vehicle conversion locally.

AC Schnitzer ACS7 Facelift

Luxury and excellent driving properties - the new BMW 7-series combines these two attributes like no other luxury saloon. Owners of this model who want even more sporting performance have come to the right place at AC Schnitzer.

AC Schnitzer engineers and designers are currently developing an aerodynamically optimized body kit for the new facelift variant of the E65 / E66, and adapting the suspension specifically for the use of AC Schnitzer wheels up to size 22".

In the interior, the enthusiastic driver will appreciate the generous use of aluminum in various applications. The high performance exhaust system completes the image of the sports saloon both visually and acoustically, and ensure improved exhaust gas flow.

The luxury saloon becomes even more attractive thanks to the elegant aerodynamic kit. The front of the car stands out with its new striking skirt with grille which has benefits beyond the visual: it improves downforce on the front axle, which is particularly evident at high speeds with more stable driving behavior.

As an option, a Chromeline Set is available for fitting around the radiator grille.

The rear is enhanced by a new design of rear skirt available in two designs to suit customer preferences. In the first stage the exhaust is invisible as on the standard vehicle. In the second variant, a corresponding cut-out ensures harmonious integration of the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with chromed tailpipe trim. A Chromeline Set is available for both versions to accentuate the lines of the rear skirt.

The visual and aerodynamic balance is further enhanced by a rear roof spoiler, a one-piece rear spoiler and mirror covers. The front and rear of the vehicle are linked by the AC Schnitzer side skirts which can be further refined by the Chromeline Set.

The AC Schnitzer alloy wheels in various designs and sizes provide both increased driving pleasure and a more attractive appearance. Alloy wheels are available in Type II and Type IV designs, and racing rims in Type II, III and IV. And if you want even larger and wider, you can fit up to size 22". The maximum wheel and tire combination we offer is the AC Schnitzer alloys Type II in 10.5J x 22" with tires 265/30 R22 on the front and 295/25 R22 on the rear.

For improved driving dynamics compared with the standard car while retaining the existing high level of comfort, AC Schnitzer developed suspension spring kits with progressive special springs. The resulting lowering by 1 inch improves the cornering abilities of the saloon even further.

For the interior there are 4-spoke sports airbag steering wheels and velour foot mats available, together with the characteristic AC Schnitzer aluminum pedals and foot rests.

The complete AC Schnitzer special accessory range for the BMW 7-series facelift is expected to be available from Autumn 2005 - and the equally complete range for the non-facelift model is of course available immediately.

The AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport based on BMW M5

The figure "507" has been legendary in BMW history for many years. More precisely since 1956, when the designer Albrecht Graf Goertz created an automotive dream, the BMW 507 Roadster.

Today, almost 50 years later, the figure "507" again has a magic significance: this time not as a model designation but as the impressive horsepower figure of the new BMW V10 engine.

This time the automotive dream is called "M5" and is not just one car - it's at least two. Firstly a comfortable luxury saloon and secondly an agile sports car - the M5 is both. But primarily it's always exactly what the driver wants, at the push of a button.

This concept, already excellent in standard form, has been perfected by the German tuner AC Schnitzer. This meant also that some components did not need perfecting - this applies primarily to the powerful engine. The V10 high performance machine remains unchanged even after the AC Schnitzer treatment.

Only in the area of the exhaust system attached to the engine did AC Schnitzer see room for improvement. The newly developed AC Schnitzer double sports rear silencer made completely from stainless steel and finished with the equally new chromed tailpipe trims in "Sports Trim" design, gives the BMW M5 a far more powerful and sonorous voice than its standard brother. At the same time, the gas flow is optimized and the response behavior perceptibly improved.

The "Sports Trim" rear silencer is an exclusive development for the new BMW M-series - not only for the M5 but also for the M6.

The driving dynamics of the BMW M5 are further improved by the use of the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit. As well as simply lowering the vehicle by around 1 inch, which lowers the centre of gravity of the BMW M5, the spring kit allows spirited cornering in the M5 with no loss of driving comfort.

In addition, the BMW M5 can be fitted with racing rims and alloy wheels in various designs and sizes. One absolute highlight in the AC Schnitzer wheel sector is the new "Forged Wheel". This lightweight forged wheel with bi-color finish - i.e. partly polished, partly lacquered surface achieves an apparent fundamental paradox: reduction in weight, and at the same time maximum wheel diameter and width. This masterpiece is achieved by the AC Schnitzer engineers and designers in the "Forged Wheel", whose design - although unmistakably related to the Type IV wheel - is totally unique. The "Forged Wheel" is expected to be available from December 2005 in sizes 9.0J x 20" and 10.0J x 20" for the BMW M5 and will be fitted with tires of size 245/35 R 20 or 285/30 R 20 on the rear.

Although the appearance of the vehicle already becomes more exclusive by fitting the AC Schnitzer wheels, we also offer aerodynamically efficient modifications to the bodywork.

For the M5, a carbon front splitter has been developed which can be firmly attached to the front spoiler with chromed aluminum webs. This individual solution not only gives the sports saloon a more striking outfit but also improves downforce on the front axle. In addition, the new AC Schnitzer chrome front grille can be fitted, which naturally meets the high air intake requirements of the BMW V10 engine. At the same time it gives the BMW M5 a touch retro look, reminiscent of a legendary "shark's mouth".

Aerodynamic balance is achieved by the rear roof spoiler, the one-piece rear spoiler and the carbon rear diffuser which is integrated into the rear skirt. The latter also impressively integrates the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer "Sports Trim".

Used in conjunction, all aerodynamic aids ensure higher downforce for the BMW M5, so that with the entire AC Schnitzer aerodynamic conversion the vehicle is perceptibly more stable and its appearance harmonizes with its sporting performance ambitions.

For the interior, a carbon interior trim is available in titanium "Exclusive" finish, a 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel or velours foot mats together with the characteristic AC Schnitzer aluminum pedals and footrests or the handbrake handle.

The new design of an aluminum cover for the controller of the BMW "i-Drive System" in the design of the Type IV wheel sets the finishing touch.

The complete AC Schnitzer special accessory range for the BMW M5 is expected to be available from Winter 2005.

ING Renault F1 Team Unveils the New R27

The ING Renault F1 Team roars into F1 with the launch of its R27 racer, aiming for continued on-track success. The ING Renault F1 Team nailed its new colors to the mast with the launch of the all-new R27 F1 car and a striking visual identity.

The ING Renault F1 Team signales its arrival in Formula 1 in style, with a spectacular media presentation in front of 600 VIPs and media in Amsterdam today (1/24/2007). Winners of consecutive world championships in 2005 and 2006, the team proudly unveiled new title partner ING and the striking new livery that will adorn the R27 cars throughout the 2007 season and beyond.

Renault F1 Team President Alain Dassas spoke of "exciting challenges" for the coming season, which will see the team's championship campaign spearheaded by Italian Giancarlo Fisichella, in his third season with the team, and Finnish rookie Heikki Kovalainen.

"Double championship success in 2005 and 2006 has earned Renault its status as a major force in Formula 1," asserted Dassas. "Our Formula 1 championship success is a benchmark of excellence that we aim to meet in every area of our operations. The Renault F1 Team's performance culture reflects the ambitious objectives of our company-wide plan, Renault Commitment 2009. Consecutive double championships are concrete proof that Renault can win in a demanding environment where success demands quality, technical excellence and reliability.

"We must now live up to that reputation. The team will present a fresh face to the world with the arrival of ING as our new title partner, and we are proud to welcome this major, global financial institution to Formula 1. But on track, our challenge will remain the same: we will be asking our technical teams and drivers to make Renault a championship contender in 2007."

After evaluating the three top teams in Formula 1, ING selected the Renault F1 Team as the perfect fit for its first global marketing campaign. With a reach of 60 million clients around the world, ING is seeking to exploit its significant investment in Formula 1, which will also include title sponsorship of the opening round of the season in Australia, to grow brand awareness globally. The Renault F1 Team's track record as a proven winner was a decisive factor in their decision to sponsor the reigning world champions.

The ING Renault F1 Team's 2007 challenger has been christened R27. The new car represents an evolution of the design philosophy that won world championship success in 2005 and 2006. Every part of the car has been designed to meet demanding performance criteria that will enable the team to maintain its front-running performance. The aerodynamic packaging represents a further step forward over its predecessor in terms of overall efficiency, and innovative solutions have been employed in a number of areas to achieve improved performance under stable technical regulations. The car also features a new 'instantaneous gearchange' seven-speed gearbox, and has been designed with maximum set-up flexibility in order that its dynamic characteristics can be tuned to suit the Bridgestone Potenza tires that will be used by every team in 2007.

"I am very proud of the team's work on R27," commented Technical Director Bob Bell. "We have enjoyed two seasons of remarkable success, but there is no complacency at all at Renault. Finding performance under stable regulations always obeys the law of diminishing returns, but our technical group has worked hard to innovate and ensure that the new car represents a genuine step forward over its predecessor in every area."

The new car will be powered by the 2.4L V8 RS27 engine, which has been designed to the requirements of the 'engine homologation' regulations which will be in force for 2007 and beyond. Conceived to limit expenditure on engine development, these rules specify that no performance improvements can be made to the engine relative to the definitive specification that will be submitted to the FIA by 1 March 2007. The engine is based on the RS26 V8 engine that competed in the Chinese and Japanese Grands Prix last season, and has been re-tuned in line with modifications permitted by the regulations for the new maximum rev limit of 19,000 rpm that will be imposed on all competitors.

"Our work for 2007 has been very different to previous years," revealed the team's Deputy Managing Director (Engine), Rob White. "Rather than designing a new engine, as we have done every season since 2001, the regulations have limited our work to optimizing how the engine operates within the new 19,000 rpm rev limit. Our development work has been conducted within the framework of the new rules and although the engine will be called RS27, it contains just 10% new parts - compared to over 95% in previous years. However, it remains one of the most advanced competition engines in the world, operating in an extreme environment, with tiny margins for error. As always, our goal will be to achieve the only acceptable objective for a topline Formula 1 engine: zero-defect reliability. We have worked hard to blend this with competitive performance for the season ahead."

The RS27 engine will also equip the cars of Red Bull Racing during the 2007 season, under the terms of a new engine supply agreement. The agreement specifies that both teams will use the same specification of engine, and a team of Renault F1 Team engineers will provide trackside support to Red Bull Racing. The new agreement marks the continuation of a tradition that begin in 1983, and which has seen customer Renault engines win 80 Grands Prix since that time. "We are very much looking forward to the new challenge, which is part of Renault's racing tradition," explained the team's Head of Engine Track Operations Denis Chevrier. "We will be looking to derive maximum benefit from every kilometer completed by a Renault engine, to improve the performance and reliability of all four Renault engines on track. But Red Bull Racing will remain a competitor like any other for the ING Renault F1 Team. We have established very clear operating principles for the new relationship, and look forward to an honest, trusting collaboration with our new partners."
